Welcome
to The Gold Coast Modular Railroad Club's
website.
Our mission is to
cultivate interest in model railroading, its
design, construction, maintenance and operation as
a hobby.
We are an HO
scale model railroad club based in the Murphy
Automobile Museum. 1530 Eastman Ave, Oxnard,
California.
We operate
exclusively with an NCE DCC train control system.
The Gold Coast Modular Railroad Club is a
freestyle club there are no restrictions on
specific railroads or eras the focus is on having
fun!
The railroad is a
work in progress; train layouts are never
"finished." Our layout is a living project as we
are always working on expanding. This can include
a variety of changes such as, new track,
industries, and even physical features. For
example, a mountain with a two track tunnel is
currently under construction. City streets, new
and rehabilitated buildings are coming. Finished
scenery will follow.
We are looking
for new prospective members of all ages! We
welcome anyone who would like to participate in
our work on the layout, regardless of ability
level. Members are entitled to operate their
locomotives anytime the Museum is open, currently
Saturday & Sunday, 10 AM to 4 PM. The Murphy
Museum has frequent events at which members are
encouraged to operate their equipment on the
Railroad. You can bring and use your own
locomotives along with either your own rolling
stock or use some of the club stock we have on the
layout. Members have run trains with as many as
100 cars, pulled by 4 or 5 locos. A truly
impressive sight!

the Directions

will keep you current with what we are doing,

nights.
